Jim Weaver – Early Values
Growing up in the river valley area of Russellville, Arkansas, instilled in Jim the values of small-town America and sparked a deep appreciation for faith, community, humility and a strong work ethic. This upbringing taught him to value performance and purpose over abundance. Jim is grateful for the challenges and the environment of his formative years since he feels they fueled a hunger for life experience and deepened his faith in humanity and our Lord above.
U.S. Marine Corps
Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Infantry/Squad Leader/Platoon Sergeant where he was instructed in warfare and force security, but also humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. These opportunities, along with the traits and characteristics of becoming a U.S. Marine, helped him gain empathy, passion, commitment, timeliness and a passion to serve others.
Building a Future
After transitioning out of the military, Jim found his way into the construction industry, in sales at 84 Lumber Company. This opportunity was the perfect foundation for learning the business side of the industry, and he quickly grew to a top area sales performer. This success opened the door to another opportunity-Artery Homes (Custom Division), a leading track and custom home builder. There, he gained hands-on expertise in job accounting, trade work expectations, job site safety, construction-specific communication and performance-based scheduling. These experiences led the Weaver family to develop and operate its own construction business.
A Family Business
With Karen, his partner of more than 25 years, and their sons Evan and Mason, Jim founded Bricks and Sticks Construction LLC (MHIC 129967/99084, WV O56926, PA091223) in 2010. They founded the Keedysville, Maryland business out of a desire to operate a multi-layered company to capable of supporting the diverse needs of their customer base.
Expanding
They’ve since expanded services into three divisions:
- River Valley Construction – General construction and design-build projects, including home additions, renovations, and decks. RVC provides a personalized customer experience with quality execution and care for residential projects of all sizes.
- River Valley Homes – The custom home-building division delivering tailored design-build experiences. This 2018 expansion to launch River Valley Homes (#8657), delivers a comprehensive design-build experience tailored to each customer’s unique vision and needs.
- River Valley Home Services – This division completes the trifecta of home-living needs by focusing on service, bringing reliability and professionalism to an often-unpredictable industry. It includes the Unified Install Program, ensuring consistent, high-quality results.

Commitment to Community Service
Jim Weaver and RVC are deeply involved in the nonprofit community outreach program, Mr. Christmas, and also with veteran support organizations, reflecting a core belief of “community first”.
Mr. Christmas seeks to deepen community bonds and mobilize the power of volunteer community service, fellowship, mentorship and direct funding to those with needs in our community. What Customers Say
We experienced a home fire in March 2024 and were ready to start our rebuild when our initial contractor didn’t work out. We were in a nightmare situation with a partially gutted house and in need of a reliable contractor ready to start a project quickly.
We met with Jim, gave him a budget and scope of what we needed, he offered his ideas and service options to get the job done. By midday the next day it felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off of us. RVC had a detailed plan in place and began to execute it. Our ideas, wants, and needs were included every step of the way. In roughly 90 days of starting our complete interior rebuild we were back in our home.
With the years of experience Jim has in the business, he was able to keep us out of the pitfalls that happen to people when building/rebuilding a home. His advice and ideas afforded us amenities that we would not have had otherwise.
We now have a great office in place of an awkward garage, ADA shower/tub in one of our bathrooms, better climate control with dual zone, a whole home generator hookup, our dream kitchen, and perfect lighting throughout the house.
This is just a few in a long list of homeruns RVC hit for us. Our home looks and feels better than we could have ever dreamed of, to say it exceeds our expectations is an understatement. We are grateful and blessed to have had RVC take on our rebuild.
